I know why I'd never heard of this thing. IT'S Sooooo BAD! The reviews were too good to be true which should have been my first clue.You would think with all the comic talent in this it would and should have been better. My sense of humor may be different then others but BE WARNED that smell is not a backed up toilet it's this turkey.Paul Rudd what were you thinking?

Wet Hot American Summer doesn't follow the same inane story line of most mainstream comedies, rather it is a fresh approach to the teen comedy genre. While a satire, the movie develops into something much more. It pushes the boundaries of absurity while nuancing in subtle jokes into the overall comic story that is the movie. The comedy is so clever that you either get it or you don't; each phrase and movement performed by every actor warrants a laugh from me. From Coop's "Gene???" to Gene's "I like to fondle my sweaters" this movie has more quotable lines than you can imagine. This is a great movie for anyone who wants to step outside the box and view something where the plot and jokes are not blatently obvious going in. If you have been to summer camp before, you will especially love this movie and the characters it encompasses. By far the best "unseen" comedy around.
