Product Description

From the Back Cover

Looking for ornaments in Grandpa's attic, Nick and Holly find the true meaning of Christmas. When Nick and his twin sister Holly follow Grandpa up the attic stairs, they expect to find a box of Christmas tree decorations. Instead they discover treasures from the past, which Grandpa uses to explain the different names for Jesus and how God's gift of His Son is the greatest Christmas treasure of all. Share the excitement of their discovery with FamilyLife's Adorenaments (TM), a collection of Christmas ornaments just like the treasures Grandpa shows Nick and Holly. They invite children of all ages to be a part of the story and help them embrace the true meaning and spirit of the season in their own hearts.

Great gift May 7 2007

We gave this book to all our grandchildren for Christmas; the concepts are wonderfully written and in child language, without sounding "childish,"
Sweet story Feb. 1 2014

My son attends a private Christian school and they used these books to make adornaments so I purchased it to read when we get the adornaments out each Christmas. It is a sweet story in any case.
Very Happy! Jan. 8 2013

This was a great way to teach my six year old about the different names Jesus has in the Bible with a brief explanation of each. He loved having the book read to him and looking at the beautiful illustrations in it. He particularly enjoyed putting the names of Jesus on our Christmas tree as I made "adorenaments", from materials I purchased at a craft store, with each of the names on them. From now on, this will be a Christmas tradition with the book being a central part of it!
Depth & Truth in a Beautiful Book Dec 5 2012
By Nicole R. Elliott - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I actually received this book as a present when my first child was born. The gift giver explained that although she knew it would be years till I could use it she just loved it so much that she felt every family needed to have a copy. Of course that got my attention! This is the story of 2 little children who go to visit their Grandpa during Christmastime. While looking for decorations they end up finding all sorts of different items and the Grandpa describes how each item portrays an aspect of Jesus character (the manger, the door, the vine, the giver of living water, etc). This book is beautifully illustrated and I've never seen a book with such depth and truth written in a way that a younger child could understand-now I know why I was given it and I'm excited as this is the first year I'll get to read it to my daughter as she's four!

This is an excellent book to remind us of the true meaning of Christmas...Jesus. The attic is full of treasures that point to different aspects of Christ.
