4.0 out of 5 stars Of course it's good....and of course: she's CANADIAN :P, Jan 1 2004
This CD is AWESOME. Chantal Kreviazuk isn't that big, and underrated but she does have really good muzik. i woulda gave it a 5 but i just REALLY dont like "Ready for your love" anyways, here's my review for each song:

1. IN THIS LIFE - 4.5/5 - this was the first single off of the album, it's an excellent song, but she sounds a bit off in some parts, but i don't really care. also it's a bit overplayed.

2. TIME - 5/5 - The second single, one of my favorite songz on the album, it just prettyful.

3. WHAT IF IT ALL MEANS SOMETHING - 10/5 - my FAVORITE song on this, or any other chantal album. its just SO good!! i think it should be a single but it's not which is also good cuz i'd probably get tired of it. it's just SO good, words can't describe it. Definately one you halfta check out.

4. JULIA - 4/5 - 3rd single, pretty good. I dunno if it's supposta be, but i find it funny. It reminds me of her 'Under These Rocks and Stones' C.D.

5. FLYING HOME (BRENDA'S SONG) - 4.5/5 - This is also a pretty good song. It's kinda sad. Chantal wrote about it when her cousin died and she was going home to the funeral.

6. WEIGHT OF THE WORLD - 3/5 - This song is o.k, sometimes i skip it. It's a chick flick song. Not bad, but there is better. Basically just a filler.

7. WAITING - 4/5 - This song's pretty good. It reminds me of something on 'Colour Moving and Still'. Nice soft/mellow song.

8. READY FOR YOUR LOVE - 0/5 - If it wasn't this song, the cd probably got a 5 stars. i REALLY am disappointed on this song cuz it sounded like it could be a sweet song, but boi wuz i wrong. it's too poppy. I might have liked it better if Mandy Moore did it, it sounds a bit like it could be off of her self-titled cd. definatly NOT a Chantal song...

9. MORNING LIGHT - 5/5 - This is also a nice song. Piano ballad basically. Mellow, also could have fit nice on CMAS. (another of my favourites ^_^;;)

10. MISS APRIL - 4/5 - Also pretty good song. Reminds me of Track 4 a bit.

11. TURN THE PAGE - 3.5/5 - Also, a CMAS-like song. Its a good closing track. Good piano. it reminds me a bit of the song "Eve". I like the chorus.

So all in all this is a highly recommended cd. (excluding track 8) i don't know what the bonus track is cuz when i bought it i didn't have it. And of course, she's canadian. Just like alot of other successful singers out there. also check out her husband's band "Our Lady Peace" they're one of my favorite groups. Check out her other 2 cds too, they're pretty good.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not her best.., July 15 2004
In some person's review they said that Chantal Kreviazuk could use some songwriting lessons from her husband. What that person didn't realize was that Raine Maida (her husband) collaborated in composing many of the songs on "What If It all Means Something", and Raine Maida has been getting quite a bit of criticism of late for becoming too mainstream with Our Lady Peace's latest effort "Gravity". Sure Raine Maida might seem to be faring better musically, but the truth is they are both converging into a more mainstream market. "Under These Rocks and Stones" and "Colour, Moving, and Still" were brilliant, whereas "What If It All Means Something" is definitely not as good.
Just to add, Chantal Kreviazuk is not better than Avril Lavigne. If you listened to Chantal's debut and sophomore records you would realize that.
