1.0 out of 5 stars Missed the boat! Oct 14 2006
Format:Hardcover
I quite enjoy the American version of the show "What not to Wear." The BBC version must be quite different. The authors used themselves as examples of "body issues" in the book and quite honestly, two people cannot possibly share every body issue known to women! The advice they gave was very basic. I think it would have been more helpful if they would have used models who really had the body issues that can be corrected with the proper clothing. Trinny and Suzannah - you missed the boat on this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars a bit muddled Nov 29 2005
Format:Hardcover
Hi, I got this book out of the library to see if I wanted to buy it. Although the authors are engaging and the material a bit useful, the book has some problems. On the plus side, the authors are very frank about their bodies which was refreshing, and I found some of their hints useful. On the negative side, they do seem to contradict themselves a bit. The book might be more helpful if I shared the body type of one of the authors. Trinny is long and slender, and Susannah is a more voluptous hourglass. I'm a flat chested pear, and they don't really address the problem of that kind of figure. Get it out of the library and check if you want to buy it first.

3.0 out of 5 stars Um.... Okay Feb 11 2004

Format:Paperback
I'm a big fan of the show ob BBC America, and I was very excited to get this book.

While I enjoyed this book and agree with everyone else that it's a good start it seemed to be lacking in a lot of meat. The examples they have are so obvious one would have to be blind not to know it looks ridiculous. There are also a lot of sweeping generalizations that didn't sit well with me. It misses the chance to really overcome subtle fashion disasters and it made me realize that one fashion doesn't always have to go with one body type.

Still it was intersting and entertaining to read, and I don't regret buying it.
