Book Description

Sep 7 2009
What is a wiseman? What is a prophet? Someone with a strange, unflappable demeanor. Someone who speaks in cryptic koans, words whose meanings take years to unravel. Someone who has confronted death, God, sin, and the immortal soul. Someone unfit for this world, but too brilliant to depart it. Someone - in short - like Keith Richards. Here, at last, the wisdom of this indefatigable man is recorded and set forth. These are his visionary words: 'I would rather be a legend than a dead legend.' Or 'Whatever side I take, I know well that I will be blamed.' And - indeed - 'I've never had a problem with drugs, only with policemen.' Not merely a compendium of wisdom, this book is also a complete guide to the inner workings of a complex and inspired belief system, and the life of a man sanctified by fame. What Would Keith Richards Do? reminds us to learn from our mistakes, let our instincts lead us, and above all, do what Keith has done better than anyone - survive.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Treat!! April 16 2011

Format:Paperback
Sure, unauthorized but it didn't matter to me. This book is chock-full of Keith Richards' quotes and anecdotes. An excellent "bathroom" book. Something you can read at random points and enjoy. Made me want to rush out and buy "Life" by Richards himself.

Bibliography at the end is very useful. The author clearly loves KR and put her heart into it. Buy it for a friend then steal it back!

4.0 out of 5 stars Street Sweet Jun 22 2009
Format:Hardcover
Hard core survival! Not a profound book - not intended to be, but great fun being in the company of the coolest eccentric ever. An alter-ego to all the "Be the best you can be" tripe. Survival is the name of the game! Don't let the turkeys get you down, etc. A bit over the edge and repetitive at times, but a terrific summer/ bathroom read. Reminds us not to take ourselves (or others)too seriously and that it's a great life if you don't weaken. Great gift for the unrecognized 'rock stars' in your life!

3.0 out of 5 stars What would Keith Richards do? Jun 24 2009
Format:Hardcover
The book is an okay read, but a little short on actual Richards quotes and a little disjointed. The two key pieces of advice from Keith that I like are that every one is the same under the skin (which explains his skull ring) and that the best piece of advice that we can take from him "is to keep breathing".
