Format: Hardcover
Hard core survival! Not a profound book - not intended to be, but great fun being in the company of the coolest eccentric ever. An alter-ego to all the "Be the best you can be" tripe. Survival is the name of the game! Don't let the turkeys get you down, etc. A bit over the edge and repetitive at times, but a terrific summer/ bathroom read. Reminds us not to take ourselves (or others)too seriously and that it's a great life if you don't weaken. Great gift for the unrecognized 'rock stars' in your life!

Sure, unauthorized but it didn't matter to me. This book is chock-full of Keith Richards' quotes and anecdotes. An excellent "bathroom" book. Something you can read at random points and enjoy. Made me want to rush out and buy "Life" by Richards himself.

Bibliography at the end is very useful. The author clearly loves KR and put her heart into it. Buy it for a friend then steal it back!

Format: Hardcover
The book is an okay read, but a little short on actual Richards quotes and a little disjointed. The two key pieces of advice from Keith that I like are that every one is the same under the skin (which explains his skull ring) and that the best piece of advice that we can take from him "is to keep breathing".

LOVE this book! April 30 2009
By Bobbi Sox - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I love how this book pokes fun at self help books, but at the same time is the best self help book you'll ever need. It's funny, witty, and thought provoking. All the wisdom you ever need can come from Keith Richards. I have this book out on the kitchen table and read a few pages or a few lines every day. It offers me just the right amount of wisdom and advice when I need it. It is well written and full of facts, too. It is a must for any Stones fan, but even those who are remotely familiar with Keith and the Stones would appreciate it, too. Get this book, you'll love it!

Keithism! May 6 2009
By Andreas Tibbles - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is a very loyal book to a very controversial figure and his personal philosophy: Keithism. The lifestyle of Keith Richards is self-destructive but at the same time powerfully preservative. This superb insight sheds light onto the dark depths of the human being, and how even in the muck and slime of humanity, beautiful things may shine. Just as the great Nazi philosopher Heidegger said that we must be held out into nothingness to comprehend our own meaning, Keith Richards says, "At our best, we master the art of going just over the edge of the abyss, then pulling back.". By the way, Richards once lived in a secret Gestapo hideaway. Mrs. West riffs with a vivid verve on a remarkable man and his unique personal philosophy. After all, the man who outlived his heroin addiction, outrageous lifestyle, and trepanned brain surgery might have a thing or two to say about that muddled thing we called life.

The icone of Rock Jan. 4 2010
By Josã Tadeu De Almeida - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
Keith Richards! Yeah ! His wisdom, his musical roots, his own philosofy and way of life, his inteligent sense of humor, his wit, his repartee, his charisma, makes him a unique person in the world of Rock`n`Roll ! When sometimes you`re down, reading a litlle bit of this book, makes you happy, thinking "Yeah ! That`s it ! Don`t worry to much !" He`s got it's own rules of living ! Of course it`s Keith Richards, the icone of Rock ! Famous and wealthy, but those two things never go up to her head ! I think is a guy that you can sit in a Bar and talk to him like a comom person ! Not like Mick, who`s the best front man in the world but very " social and egocentric " and all that ! Keith is a "man`s" people and i wish God gave him a long life ! He`s the heart of the Stones and Mr. Rock`n`Roll himself ! Very easy to read, with several topics in witch they have small frases and texts ! A wonderful job of Jessica Pallington West, author of "Lipstick" but also a strong fan of the Rolling Stones! Congratulations !

Well, it won't really change your life, but it will give you some laughs and some nice insights. What a great idea, and it is well executed to boot.
