The man has done his homework., Mar 31 2009
This review is from: What's So Great About Christianity (Hardcover)
In short, this book completely destroys the arguments of the various "New Atheists" out there, the large part of whom have absolutely pitiful knowledge of true Christianity and theology in general. While this book does not prove God or any other supernatural experience, it does give excellent evidence for all of the above and without question proves the merits of the Christian faith. Perhaps most importantly, the book demonstrates that it is in fact when you remove and persecute religion, that the true bloodbaths of history begin. The Crusades, Inquisition and Witch Hunts, as horrid and shameful as they were, are nowhere near in scale when compared to the crimes of the godless: Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao etc. The state-atheism of the 20th century is rarely seen for what it is and D'Souza shows this. All of D'Souza's writing is annotated and well researched. The bibliography alone is the size of a standard chapter. The man has done his homework.

A superb work, Jun 7 2008
This review is from: What's So Great About Christianity (Hardcover)
I absolutely love this book. I think it is brilliant. I have read a lot of philosophy, and I can tell you that this guy is able to explain concepts in a clear and convincing manner. Besides which, his reasoning is extremely persuasive. (The only criticism that I can find is the deference, at times bordering on sycophancy, he pays to the theory of Darwinian evolution.) He gives a very good analysis of atheism - and its backdrop, materialism - and the philosophical assumptions that underlie it, and makes a convincing (should I say, reasonable?) case for the existence of a deeper facet to ourselves. I recommend this book to everyone who is curious about the fundamental meaning of existence.

Atheists Beware...You Might Want to Have This Book Banned, Nov 21 2007
This review is from: What's So Great About Christianity (Hardcover)
I will keep this review short and concise: Dinesh D'Souza will not be on any atheist Christmas Card mailing list, er, should I says Winter Solstice Card list. It has been said the greater the lie, the more some people will want to believe it. Atheism is so lacking in credibility, yet so many people ignore the truth and willfully adhere to this morally bankrupt philosophy. This book thoroughly demolishes the atheist viewpoint; it should be required reading at all universities, to offset the poison that the Liberal elites are forcing on students.
