I have been eating gluten free for a number of years and these recipes look great and go beyond the common, boring and often awful tasting recipes. Also, the information in the front of the book regarding how our present day wheat came into being and why we are experiencing so many wheat allergies is great - understanding is an important part of beginning the journey of eating wheat free. The information on setting up you kitchen is very helpful especially for those who are just beginning to eat wheat/gluten free and this eliminates a lot of confusion around the whole issue of cooking and eating gluten free.

Very valuable information to consider. Solidified my previous personal experiences that have led me to believe that my body does not like wheat products. This book helped me to understand why.

I LOVE this book and it's information. It has quite literally saved my life.....and I've probably picked up at least 10 more copies to give to friends. I quit eating wheat at the beginning of February and I HAVEN'T FELT THIS GOOD IN OVER 30 YEARS!!! I would DEFINITELY recommend it to EVERYONE to read....and follow.

This is a helpful resource if you have eliminated wheat or gluten from your diet. The pizza crust is delish! Helps you prepare your kitchen and provides a shortened version of the book "wheat belly". I'm glad I read both though, as the book gives a lot more detail about the science, and cookbook gives a far better variety of recipes than the book.

I bought the Wheat Belly Cookbook after I looked over my daughter's book. There so many good recipes as well as a ton of information in this book. The price is excellent. You will have to stock your cupboards with non-grain flours such as Almond Flour, Coconut Flour, Bean Flour etc., and that can get quite expensive. I have used allot of the recipes in this book and have enjoyed most of them, with the exception of only a few. I tried the Basic Bread Recipe and had to throw it out as it smelled terrible (I am thinking because of the bean flour). Also, the Coconut Flapjacks tasted just plain terrible! The Tomato Soup is delicious and I have made it with both the coconut milk and the half and half; I prefer the coconut milk myself. I have also made the Flax Crackers, flax wraps, the Raisin Walnut Bread and the peanut butter cookies, the homemade turkey sausage and the turkey chilli. They are all delicious and filling. The downside of the cookbook is that you are not only expected to remove wheat from your diet, but sugar, most dairy and pretty much all grains. This leaves you very limited as to what to have for meals, especially if you are cooking for someone besides yourself. Also, most recipes contain a fair amount of ground flax meal, and some coconut flour, which are both very laxative, so keep that in mind when eating the breads, cookies, etc. I stayed on the diet for one month and did not stray from it. I never felt hungry between meals. I have an inflammatory condition (Ankylosing Spondylitis) which settled down remarkably well and I was able to stop taking NSAIDS on a regular basis. I did not lose any weight, but perhaps if I had stuck to the diet longer I would have. I gradually found myself going back to wheat products as it was easier, and the inflammation has returned.Read more ›

Great recipes that I want to try. Did a cleanse and stopped eating bread and lost 23lbs. Bread is evil...lol. This book gives great alternatives to breads/bagels/muffins that are so easy to grab. Nice pictures as well. The testimonials are great also. Great to see people are figuring it out and helping themselves.

After careful examination of the recipes, I tried three so far and all three were simple, fast and very tasty. I am now anxious to try the rest--breakfasts, breads and snacks. I'm thrilled with it!

Am feeling better already after eliminating wheat from my diet. It really is not as hard as I thought it would be.
