4.0 out of 5 stars A Tarot that talks to you! Nov 18 2012

For a beginner who isn't attracted to the original Rider Waite deck, this deck would do nicely. The images have a lot to say and the meanings of the cards really come through in these images. The images are very expressive, which is one of the things I love about this deck.

The suits in this deck are Chalices, Pentacles, Swords and Wands. The courts are Princess, Knight, Queen and King. The backs are not reversible. Strength in this deck is VIII and Justice is XI.

The Wheel of the Year tarot deck focuses on nature, both physically and mystically. It is lovely and inspirational and the interpretations of each card are refreshing and easy to interpret instinctively. The art is literal, colourful, though a little cartoony, which certainly appeals but I was hoping for more "fine art" images rather than illustrations. In all I am very happy with this deck and will cherish it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Simple, Easy to Read. May 7 2011
By Hailey Marie - Published on Amazon.com

I absolutely adore this deck. I searched high and low for many a moon to find a deck I could connect with. The graphics are vibrant and gorgeous, yet simple and easy to interpret. As a beginner at Tarot, this deck has been easy for me to read. The size of the cards is adequate to see the details. As I have small hands, they can be cumbersome to shuffle, but that's not a fault of the cards.

The only thing I dislike is that the companion book is small and made of thin paper. I would've preferred a larger book with more interpretations/information. The cards come in a small box, similar to that of playing cards, which I imagine will wear out in time.

Also, the description says "Hardcover," but it did not come with a hardcover anything. I think that is a problem of Amazon's though, because in the product description it states that it is a boxed deck with instruction booklet.

Great deck. Highly Recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Extremely 'Talkative' Deck! May 16 2011

I was instantly drawn to this deck as soon as I saw the images of some of these cards on amazon as well as various other sites. Being an avid collector and reader of Tarot and Oracle cards for about 15 years now, I decided to wait a little while longer to see if I really, really wanted to get this deck. After about a week, I finally gave in to my intuition and bought it. ... And I have to say that this is one of the most lively, 'talkative,' user-friendly, and 'warm and fuzzy' tarot decks I've ever come across. The images and messages I receive don't make me as 'nervous' as some of the other 'serious' ones I own which is a nice little shift. NOT to say that this deck shouldn't be taken seriously at all, because these cards will just "jump out" at you and and make their messages known to you LOUD and CLEAR, lol! I think I made a wise choice, and this will probably be one of my favorite decks to use now.

The only reason I gave it a 4-star rating and not a 5-star is because the cards are a little smaller and the paper is somewhat thinner than most of the tarot cards/decks I own. Might take me a little getting used to, but certainly NOT a huge drawback, IMHO. Though... if used extensively, I would probably have to replace it every few years or so, I'm not quite sure. ... But if that's not an issue for the many, many other tarot readers out there who prefer their cards to become soft and have that 'worn-out' feeling/look--than you have no worries at all! :)

I would definitely give this colorful, cheery-bright, and animated deck a chance if you want a more 'friendly' deck of cards that absolutely loves to talk to you! I also believe this deck is an EXCELLENT choice for beginners! And once again... a more light-hearted, fun-filled experience and approach for the more seasoned and serious veteran tarot card readers out there. ;)

4.0 out of 5 stars A Highly Accessible Tarot Deck Jun 13 2011
By Lalia Wilson - Published on Amazon.com

The Wheel of the Year Tarot has lovely images that are immediately accessible to tarot readers of even limited experience. For anyone who has done more readings, this deck is one you can pick up and use right away. Like other tarot fans, I have favorite cards in each deck I use. The Wheel of the Year deck has some lovely cards. I especially like the Fool, the Aces, The Tower and the Chariot. The depictions of manly men are interesting in Strength, The Sun, and The Emperor. One theme that I didn't like as much was that the Queens of Wands, Cups and Pentacles all seemed to be bursting out of their clothes, having enjoyed too many of the perks of the royal table...
