4.0 out of 5 stars It's not the end of the world!, Feb 19 2011

This review is from: When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes (Paperback)
If you're looking for a "load your gun and head for the hills" sort of book, keep moving. I love those ones, I can admit it. This book is more geared towards people who are new to the survivalist, prepper, SHTF, etc... way of thinking. It's the perfect book for some one who lives in the city or suburbs and wants something simple and to the point. It's an easy read and Cody Lundin does an excellent job of explaining things. Sometimes it seems like he goes on and on. That made this book a bit of a chore to read at times, but what text book is fun to read. I can't stress that this isn't for the die hard survivalists out there. If your looking for a book to read so you can deal with extended emergencies, like natural disasters that might leave you with out essential services like power, water and a groccery store I would start with this one. It's the basics in a basic format. The things you need to keep you and your family alive. Like where to find water. how much water you need to survive, how to tell if your getting dehydrated. How to keep your home warm in cold weather without burning it down or killing your family with carbon monoxide. This book will get you through it until help comes. If something were to happen say the end of the world, or nuclear armagedon then yes you will find this book lacking.

This review is from: When All Hell Breaks Loose: Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes (Paperback)
When all hell breaks loose is an excellent book for the growing segment of city dwellers that have no idea how to handle an emergency situation. This is not your die hard Rambo shoot em up survival guide. Cody Lundin spends a lot of time on survival psychology, I believe this is a must for people who have never had to deal with emergencies or survival situations. An excellent read, very informative and highly recommended.
