Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

art farce and part inspirational romance, this fanciful fable chronicles the misadventures of Patience Goodfellow, a willful guardian angel who possesses all-too-human urges. For the first time in her 200 years of angel guardianship, Patience has fallen in love. Unfortunately, the object of her affections is her mortal charge, saloon owner and notorious ex-gunslinger Brad Shaw. When she breaks a heavenly rule and removes her halo for a short stint, making herself visible to the human eye, she's accidentally knocked unconscious and stranded on Earth. Upon waking, all of her memories of being an angel have vanished, and the one thing she's certain of is that she's engaged to Brad. Naturally, Brad comes to the conclusion that the stormy-eyed stranger claiming to be his betrothed must be mentally disturbed, but he finds it baffling that she seems to know everything about him and the other residents in Fortune, N.Mex. Although Brad tries to distance himself from his persistent "fiance," passion takes over when he and the wayward angel are stranded alone together in a remote cottage. Readers who enjoy rosy, paranormal romances will delight in this bit of fluff, but others may be put off by the novel's headstrong hero and irreverent tenor.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Angel in disguise, May 3 2002
This review is from: When the Halo Falls (Mass Market Paperback)
Patience Goodfellow is in love which would be great but she's an angel and the man she loves is her charge Brady Shaw. She's been with him through everything and knows he's a much better man than what the world would believe. After trying to convince her "boss" that she should talk to him she goes into a shop and dreams. She wonders what life would be like if she were engaged to Brady. She takes up her halo to try on a veil and trips and hits her head.

When she wakes up she has only one thought in mind. To visit her fiance but when she visits him he has no idea who she is. She thinks it's all a joke and stays put. Suddenly the whole town believes she's Brady's fiance and more importantly Brady wants her to be his. A funny charming novel that will make it into your keeper pile Kathleen Kane writes a touching romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pestilence!, Feb 7 2002

This review is from: When the Halo Falls (Mass Market Paperback)
Wanna waste your money? Buy a book with no plot, no chemistry and no spark. You will NEVER say that about this book, nor this author.

Kathleen Kane always comes thru for me. When I need an "ahhhh" moment in my life, I pull one of her novels down and read it again. When I need a laugh, I pick up my tattered but oh-so-loved copies of Ms. Kane's many works. When the Halo Falls is yet another keeper. I just wish I could have her cloaned so that she could write a book each month!

Patience Goodfellow will thrill you. She will touch you in places you never knew you had. Brady Shaw is the type of hero that makes you root for him and wanna shake some sense into him at the same time. What I love about this novel is that you also grow to love each person in it. Lily, the former lady of evening, grew on me and I rooted for her "lawful" love.

You won't waste good money with this author, that is for sure!
