Summary,
By KittyMomma (British Columbia, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: When Wizards Rule (Paperback)
Desperate to avoid a Joining with the wickedly handsome Sashtain Twins, Marina escapes them at every turn. Relentless, they plague her days, and torment her dreams--wickedly erotic dreams that make her body pulse with the promise of dark desires revealed and a sexual heat that will send her up in flames. But when the hated Seculars gain in strength, and dark magic weaves an insidious, invisible threat to all she holds dear, she discovers there is more to be gained by aligning her magick with the Sashtain Wizards than she thought. Caise and Kai'el Sashtain, focused solely on convincing the innocent young Sorceress to bond with them, get a lot more than they anticipated when Marina unknowingly weaves her magick spell on them--a sensual spell that pulls them into a vortex of churning emotions, forcing them to decisions that could alter all their lives. Dark magick is terrorizing the land, no one is safe, all become suspect, and trusting her Wizards with her heart, body and soul is a lesson Marina has to learn before all is lost.

Lora Leigh is my new favorite,
By Maries "Maries" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: When Wizards Rule (Paperback)
I bought this book after falling in love with Lora Leigh's Feline Breeds books. Lora Leigh is definitely one of the best Romantica authors out there.
When Wizards Rule is set in a magical land in which wizards come in sets of twins, and one sorceress normally joins with a twin set to form a magical trio. So that's one girl, two alpha males. Unfortunately, there is a long-standing rift between wizards and sorceresses, and the sorceresses don't trust the wizards and don't want to join with them. Meanwhile, evil human Seculars are attacking, and the joinings are needed to protect the magical lands. Marina is a young, independent sorceress who wants nothing to do with wizards, and does her best to avoid the sexy Sashtain twins when they try to court her. But the twins are on a mission to save the land, and they set out to seduce her and convince her to join with them. The plot is just background to an erotic love story, but it chugs along smoothly enough and helps keep the anticipation high throughout the book. This is not great literature, and the writing has some flaws (although it is not overly cliche or amatuerish), but that doesn't interfere with the intense eroticism of this story. If nothing else, the first love scene between Marina, Caise and Kai'el is one of the most erotic scenes I've ever read and made the whole book worthwhile. I finished it in no time and then ordered everything else I could find by Lora Leigh. I highly recommend this book to fans of erotic romance. 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful:

Very Erotic,
By Love Romance - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: When Wizards Rule (Paperback)
"When Wizards Rule" has got to be one of the most erotic books I have ever read. It was excellent. If you are looking for a book of that nature then this is the story for you. The story is about a set of very sexy twins , who are wizards, that need to find their mate to align their magic. I loved it and am going to get the first one in the series called "Menage a Magic". If you are in search of a new erotic paranormal series then search no more because this story is excellent.

Could have been...,
By loves toe sox "^_~" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: When Wizards Rule (Paperback)
This book had a good premise, and wonderful potential. I liked the storyline and the Lead Males but the Heroine was boring and whiny so she came across somewhat annoying. It's almost a rehash of the author's previous book of the Wizard Twins: Menage a Magick. Different sister, same annoying flat lead female character. There were a few intriguing subplots that sets up the reader for sequeals. It seems the leads into the stories are great but after that, all pretense for the storyline falls. The love scenes with regards to menage a trios: its pretty steamy but not as sensual or well written as her other books, but it still gets a girl hot and bothered. ~_^
Overall its good for a simple read but don't expect anything really unique or to get really wrapped up into this book. |
