About the Author
Wa-Na-Nee-Che has an Ojibwa mother and a Lakota father and descends from a long line of medicine men and shamans. He works in the civil rights fields and has served on educational and advisory boards seeking to improve the conditions of native peoples.

I am so impressed with this deckThe way it's put together, the cards, the accompanying book, mind you I may go & buy the bigger book later to go with it but this set is definitely worth ever cent it is sold for If you like me love animals they are very appropriately covered in this set If you are looking for a great set - and like the Medicine Wheel this one is it

I was initially captured by this long OOP deck years ago. Now this new edition with its smaller packaging restores one of the few decks that caught my eye regarding Native American spirituality. Yes, I am aware of the controversy surrounding one of the authors. There are some con artists out there who take advantage of an unknowing public. Honestly, I can think of worse. Reading the accompaning book, I get the feel that Wa Na Ne Che is a fake. I wonder why some people do this? If he is real, I hope he lets me know that.Onto the cards themselves, they are a nice photographic depiction of traditional sacred Native art. If you dont mind the "new age" slant to thier meanings, they are quite nice. I like looking at the animals and other images. I wonder about the depth of the meanings. Free style neo shamans can make up thier own meanings. The teachings of the medicine wheel is nice. I wonder how much is smoke and mirrors? If this is so, shame on the authors. Havent the native people been exploited enough? Any way, I am glad the deck is back in print. Its great for beginners working with oracle cards. For those with a Native American interest, it inspires one forward. As far as being a source of honest spirituality, look elsewhere. At least they are reasonably priced!

I was in a store that sold these and I look through them and decided to buy another set instead. As soon as I got home I regretted not buying these too! I was so happy to find them online and at a better price too! These cards are great! I love the artwork! Great item to collect!

I am a Professional Reader with a Syndicated Radio Show where I provide Readings. I went off of a customer review on another deck that was similar to this deck, where the person recommended this deck over the other. I have read these reviews, esp the one on the cards being flimsy. Yes, they are not as thick or a bit flimsy, but I like that as some decks I have gotten were real hard to shuffle and this is not the case here. I find them easy to shuffle and sturdy to boot! I read over the book and looked at the cards and I like it! I highly recommend this deck and plan on discussing it on tonight's show.
