Since I had already read the book, I really did not like this movie. I felt the characters were not developed at all. The main male was depicted in a much poorer light than in the book.
The changes made from the book to the movie were for effect only, and did nothing in my opinion.
I loved the book, but did not love the movie. The photography was good though. Nice depiction of parts of Kenya.
If you have not read the book, then maybe you would have a better opinion of it than me.

The book is an easy read and sometimes interesting if you can get over how incredibly 'out of it' the writer/subject is in her understanding of cultures.
