A Must for your Tarot library, Sep 23 2011
By Nancy Antenucci - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Who Are You in the Tarot?: Discover Your Birth and Year Cards and Uncover Your Destiny (Paperback)
"Who Are You in the Tarot" may have permanently changed my mind about integrating astrology and numerology with Tarot. I have never really been drawn to either of the first two systems but Ms Greer has waved a magic wand that is hard to resist. Using simple formulas combining the numbers of your birth date yield uncanny results. Grouping the Tarot into nine constellations that reveal deeper truths, impulses and characteristics of an individual based on this birth numerology is laid out in a clear, convincing and well thought out system. The impact of this information is far reaching. Rather than approaching the current questions or issues of the querent, a reader will be able to start the reading with a much larger and deeper context. Ms Greer credits Angeles Arrien as the original teacher of the Lifetime and Year cards as well as the idea of the Tarot constellations. This book is a deep exploration of this brilliant insight to Tarot. This is a valubale resource book for Tarot advocates of all levels of study. I quite enjoyed the thoroughly engaging exercise that are dotted along this journey. There are also helpful spreads, charts and lists for easy reference. Bravo Ms Greer, you have again improved Tarot literature.

Tarot, Numerology, and You, Sep 18 2011

I have always found working with numerology to be very helpful. I love looking at myself, and my clients, through the lens of birth data. There is a wealth of wisdom to be found in the numbers. When I came across Mary Greer's "Tarot Constellations", I was in heaven! I could relate birth number to the Tarot, which was (and remains) a passion of mine. Mary's current work, "Who Are You In The Tarot" picks up where her previous work left off. It is in no way a simple update ... it is a wonderful expansion of the material, and a truly great place to play!
This is a book to be worked with, not read and then set on the shelf to be admired. One of the things that Mary addresses is the placement of Strength and Justice - how either placement can be correct, but that where the student/reader places them needs to be taken into consideration when working with this book.
There are many exercises sprinkled throughout the book that allow the reader to understand the material presented on a very intimate level. They will learn to dialogue with the cards, ask questions appropriate to each archetype, investigate the symbols in the cards, work with specific spreads to get to know your cards, determine the Hidden Factor, or Teacher card, and more.
There are easy to use charts throughout the book that help the reader to easily grasp Personality and Soul Patterns, with the Hidden Factor/Teacher cards associated with them; the nine constellations, with their associated Principle, Personality and Soul Card Patterns, Hidden Factor/Teacher Cards, and Minor Arcana cards; the suits, associated elements and their meanings; the three Dynamic Groups and more.
This is an excellent resource, and a valuable tool for personal discovery, as well as a tool that can be used to assist a reader in helping their client to see themselves in a clearer manner. I highly recommend this book to all afficianados of both numerology and Tarot, at all levels.

This expanded and updated version of Mary Greer's Tarot Constellations is long overdue, but the wait was worth it! She introduces a system of finding and using specific cards to identify life lessons we bring with us when we're born, what karmic lessons our parents gave us when they named us, and a system of year cards that identifies the principal lesson we're working on each year. I've been using her system for almost 20 years, and find it to be extremely insightful. This new book promises to expand and build on what I've learned so far, and gives me a workbook for further study.
I recommend this book for people who are new to the Tarot, and want to learn more about themselves, and for veteran Tarot students who want to expand their knowledge. Great job, Mary!
