Valeri Gorbachev is the author and illustrator of a number of children's books, both in the United States and Europe, including Nicky And The Big Bad Wolves and Where is the Apple Pie? Mr. Gorbachev immigrated to the United States from the Ukraine in 1991 and now lives with his family in Brooklyn, New York.

A Favourite Bedtime Story,

We initially borrowed this book from the library, and liked it so much, bought one copy and have since bought two more copies to give as gifts to new parents. My daughter loves this book too, and often talks about the different characters.

This book became my daughter's favorite the first time we read it. The story follows Wooley as he asks "Who will tuck me in?". His mom is away, and the other animals try to help, each doing their own thing. The message - that no one can do it in the perfect way that mom does - is so sweet and touching. This is a "cuddle up together and read" book.

This book is very amusing and your 2 year old will catch on quickly to littlle Woolly lamb's frustration in not having his mom around to tuck him in. All the animals try to come to his rescue claiming they know how to tuck him in, but of course, no one does it like mom can. This book will definitely entertain any child from 2 to 7 trying to stall at bed time.

My wife and I read a book to our young child every night before bed and prayer time. This book is in the rotation. If you're looking for a relatively short, quite clever and entertaining book, this book is an excellent choice for an infant to probably a four year old. Because our child is still quite young, my wife and I probably enjoy this book more than they do (It's that entertaining). Sandra Boynton's 'Going to bed book' is also a must have in this same category... you will not be disappointed in purchasing both of these books. I actually purchased a couple of extras of this book to give as gifts when the opportunity arises (we like it that much).
