I have loved this album, since I first heard "Turn Off the Light" & "I'm Like a Bird" (two of my favorite songs). For a long time, the airwaves and television were permeated with Nelly Furtado's music, and I enjoyed every song, video or performance.
Then, when the airplay dwindled, I felt compelled to purchase the album. I have played it, subsequently, more times than I can possibly remember. I love to put the album on while doing housework, or just for ambient music, or to crank it up and just dig the Vibes.
I very rarely enjoy an entire album, and normally only like 2-5 songs on a CD. However, I thoroughly enjoy each and every song on Nelly Furtado's album--the music, the vocals (!), the stories, et al.
I am looking-forward to purchasing her latest album, as well. I've enjoyed the Launchcast videos, as a preview.
Nelly Furtado has a very unique sound--her voice and the amazing fluctuations she can produce are soothing, powerful, emotional and humorous. I can actually see her smile, or grin with sarcasm, etc., as she sings. She obviously poured her emotions into her music. The music, itself, is very catchy. The grooves, vibes and beats stay in my head, lingering afterward. I love this CD.
