1.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to use! Not worth money... Jan 23 2010
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
So I had read all the reviews saying that the nunchuk and remote were difficult to insert into the dumbbells and was worried about buying the product. I decided to try it nevertheless and the nunchuk and remote are not that difficult to insert (it takes no more time than say switching to a resistence band and getting it ready during your workout). However doing the exercises is extremely difficult and frustrating for me because the dumbbells get into the way of the cord so when you are trying to do lateral shoulder raises for example, the cord is not long enough. Also the game has more difficulty registering your movements and makes you repeat exercises more frequently. All in all I found these dumbbells to be an exercise in frustration. I will wait for something better to come out, for now I will just use resistance bands that give me more resistance than the one included in the game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good Jan 15 2010

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
A good product, really adds a burn to a work out you might be getting used to. Also can use with normal games just to get a little extra. I've read reviews complaining about taking the remotes in and out but it's easy as long as you remember to do the nunchuck first. The acuracy is the same. The actual size of the weights was bigger than I expected.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty useless Jun 5 2010

Although I LOVE my Wii, these dumbbells are pretty useless. It takes so long to hook them up in the middle of your fitness program that you lose momentum. Also, the Wii has trouble reading the remote through the dumbbell. I tried using them for extra weight during boxing and the game wasn't registering my punches. I can't recommend this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Design could have been better, but better than nothin! July 6 2010

The wii controllers must be placed inside 'tunnels' in the dumbbells. This creates three small issues, which aren't very bad but slightly annoying: a. the controller has a harder time communicating directly with the Wii because of said tunnel and the position you'd generally hold a dumbbell in isn't directly straight forward, so you miss points/hits/whatever. and b. by holding the dumbbell you're actually pressing buttons on the controller - the grip is removed so you've got direct palm to button pressure. and c. it's hard to disconnect the nunchuck from the controller which is required for several other games which dumbbells would make a better workout for, so I end up popping the controller out disconnecting. well, it takes up valuable time.

nice idea though and I'll continue to use them. the design could have been better.

Great product for a little extra weight to use with the Wii Fit. Good starter weights - I wish a heavier version would become available.
