John S. Harding is an associate professor in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Lethbridge. Victor Sogen Hori is an associate professor in the Department of Japanese Religions at McGill University and a former Rinzai monk. Alexander Soucy is an associate professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Saint Mary's University.

This is a well-written and edited contribution to academic studies on Buddhism in Canada, or more widely on Buddhism in the so-called 'West'. The articles, many of which were written by the foremost experts in the field, are as expected of high quality yet accessible.
