Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game can be a bit long and I usually get bored after abut playing 5 levels in a row, but it's a dungeon crawler what do you expect. I personally think this game is defiantly one of the top 5 game cube games ever made.

4.0 out of 5 stars A taste of the good old days! Oct 20 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I once owned Gauntlet: Dark Legacy in my youth, but I was young and naive and didn't have a job so when I discovered EB's "trade three get one free" promotion and I had reached the level cap and defeated Skorne countless times, it was traded off for a less fun game. Thanks to Amazon though, I've been reunited with this little gem and it's just as fun and addictive as I remember it!
Naturally the first thing I did was invite a group of friends over and we took on the world of Gauntlet. The cheesy but epic voice overs, the fun and exciting environments, the races for hidden treasures, the constant trolling, and of course THE ENDLESS GRINDING had us all glued to the TV for the rest of the night. Graphically, this game definitely hasn't aged very well but graphics don't really hinder the game experience and give it a sort of nostalgic charm. One thing I noticed afterwards was that the game does lose a bit of its fast paced fun and excitement when you go solo. The enemies will provide more of a challenge and the endless grinding mentioned above may become tedious if your doing it alone in your basement. This is definitely a game to be played with friends (there's even fun little distractions like a glowing orb that activates a game of tag). Sure it's an old game and its age does show through in its graphics and gameplay but i personally feel there's no better place to go than here for a fun fantasy arcade dungeon romp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hallelujah!
Upon renting this game I didn't think very highly of it, mostly because of glitches in it that were apparently absent in the PS2 and X-Box versions of the game. But no more! Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Fun... for 30 minutes.
While Gauntlet offers a lot of levels, mosnsters and bosses, it will get boring really fast. It helps to have friends playing but even then it will still wear off fast. Read more
