The essential information for getting the software up and running is the product key. The product key label was not clearly printed. It was indistinct and the miniscule characters (font less than 4 points) could be read even when using a magnifying glass. At least four of the characters were so ambiguous that I had to guess, and you can imagine how many different combinations of characters would have to be tried before coming up with the right combination. I had to call Microsoft support, and after a lengthy process, they sent me a replacement set of CD's. The second set arrived without any product key, which resulted in another call to Microsoft support. Finally, I got a workable product key and was able to install Win 8 successfully. I had no problems with actual purchase and product delivery through Amazon - it was fast and efficient. The other issue I had was with the Microsoft site itself, which is cumbersome and hard to navigate. It's brutal!
