This is NOT another Lake Eden Novel!! Aug. 27 2013
By jmcbride1 - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
If you are looking for ANYTHING like the Hannah Swensen mysteries, DO NOT BUY THIS! However, if you are looking for a darker mystery novel, you may want to give this book a try. Reading all the bad reviews, they all say the same thing, "this isn't like her other books" No, it's not, but that certainly doesn't make it bad, it's just different. It seems the book jacket alone will tell you this is not a Lake Eden book. I liked this book. There were moments of complete sadness and sorrow and if you want an upbeat book with laughs and happy ending, do not read this. This is a completely different genre and i wish people would recognize that before purchasing the book and then giving a horrible review. Also this book was written in 1984, so yes this is an "early work" and re-issued. It was no Hannah Swensen, but it was still a good book!!

Shocking!!! Aug. 14 2013
By Ruth A. Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This book shocked me. I have read all this author's books and have thoroughly enjoyed them. They have been mystery cozies. This book was dark and scary. I still don't know which of all the characters was the really bad guy. Book was well written and moved right along. But I almost had to look under the bed when I was done. I am giving it a five because of the way it was written, but I never want to read one like it again.

Upsetting Dec 15 2013

I have never before wanted to un-read a book but this one is one that I wish I could un-read. It left me completely shocked and upset. I have never felt this way before and I read all types of literature.

Very disappointed Aug. 8 2013

I have read and enjoyed Joanne Fluke's books in the past. I expected something similar to the Hannah Swensen series, which I found fun and entertaining. Winter Chill was not only basically depressing, it wasn't even particularly well-written. I don't believe there was a happy moment in the whole book - I'm sorry I spent the money to buy it.

What a great book! Aug. 16 2013

I have enjoyed Fluke's Cookie Store books and this one is even better. I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. You may think you have the ending and mystery solved but . . . You won't stop reading until you do. . . on the last page.
