About the Author

H. P. Richter wrote the first edition of Wiring Simplified in 1932. W. C. Schwan is the author of previous editions of Wiring Simplified. He lives in Hayward, California. Frederic P. Hartwell is secretary of the Massachusetts Electrical Code Advisory Committee and the author of Practical Electrical Wiring. He lives in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Much better than the very basic do-it-yourself guides. (Though they do have their place.) This book is a boil-down of the NEC (the electric code).

It will serve you well whether you are planning a big project or just want to learn.

Price is right too.

Don't expect step by step instructions for a job you'd like to do.. other books for that.

If you know how to do the work, this will make sure you do it according to code.
Many people have good ideas out there, but doesn't always comply with code.

I'd say a BIT high in price at $10, uses cheap paper and gets updated often making old version pretty much trash. A few years ago this same title only cost about $4. That's quite a price jump.

Stay up to date and safe.

NOTE; This version is out of date now...NEC is updated and published every three years. The 2008 Code is the most recent edition, approved on August 15, 2007. Here at Amazon for pre-order.

There is good gereral information in this book but it is not an all comprehensive electrical guide or even a full explanation of the electrical code. Not good for pros.
