This is one of the most imaginative, intricate, and involving series I've ever seen. Yancy Butler is strong, sexy, and savvy, combining the best qualities of womanhood. Lots of character diversity, mystic touches, details which, even if you miss some of them (like Nottingham's tombstone), are incredibly satisfying in adding texture. Drawing from a huge variety of tales, myths, legends, spiritual beliefs, melded with neo-tech experiments, the story line is captivating. The only disappointment is it ended way, way, way too soon. Talismaniac is fab. So...."Had any dreams lately?"

It is rare to find a show that kept me on the edge of my seat as this series did. Witchblade's Yancy Butler encompasses the essence of her character. I'm not familiar with the comic it spans off from but as a show it was a gem. The chemistry in the cast was electrifying and the stories didn't disappoint, at least not for me. Sara Pezzini is a cop who encounters a gauntlet that can only be worn by women who are chosen by it. These women are tied together in some way from Joan of Arc to others. Sara fights evil using this gauntlet (which turns into a bracelet) giving her extraordinary abilities. Kenneth Irons is her arch enemy trying to poses the wichblade and its bearer.
During the early part of the millennium this show was rated #1 in TNT's lineup (a cable channel in the US) but it is believed that the show was cancelled because of reports of Yancy Butler's battle with alcoholism resulting in checking herself into a rehab facility for 30 days in the middle of shooting the series.
Regardless of the reason it does not take away from being one of the best shows I was ever sorry to see go before it had the chance to evolve into one of the best shows of its time.

I tried so hard to like this, it started out well but then betrayed us all by reversing everything in the first half to just a dream status and starts all over again, but differently. I still stuck by it, but have left the final 3 dvd;s in their box unwatched. it's just too terrible, supposedly champion Nancy Butler crying over guys she meets, falls in love with and then has to kill or get killed in every episode over and over and over again! As a diehard science fiction and fantasy fan this series went nowhere and I'm glad it was cancelled. Boooo

Season 1 of Witchblade: The Complete Series starts off strong... and has a weak ending. Characters were killed off so quickly that to have a season 2 they had no choice but call, "Do over!" Regardless, Witchblade was fun to watch and I would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys fantasy. Great cast!

I bought this because I had read some Witchblade comics, really liked them, learned about the availability of this series and so decided to give it a try. What a disappointment! The whole concept behing the Witchblade is that it is some surnatural weapon with a mind of its own which allows its bearer to accomplish remarkble things, but one of the worst things about this series is that this weapon is barely used! I even recall one episode in which it was not even used at all. Another terrible thing is that -- you won't believe it -- the 2nd season *is a reboot of the 1st season*!!!! No kidding! Beyond that, the plots are not that exciting and (but this is a matter of personal taste) I didn't like very much the background music.
