About the Author
K. L. Going lives in the Hudson Valley area of New York State. Since graduating from college she has worked as an adult literacy tutor, a ticket agent for a major airline, a front desk clerk at a resort hotel, and an assistant in a Manhattan literary agency. It's amazing. This is book number six and Kate Douglas still finds different ways to describe the Chanku packs we have become accustomed to and love. Adam - the fixer - goes after Eve - the commitment phobe - who ran from Montana all the way to Florida. He takes Anton Cheval's male housekeeper - Oliver - and friend with him and together they come across mysterious Mei Chen - a homeless orphan who met Eve previously during their years in foster care. So far, so good - but Kate's storylines are never as straight forward as that. You think you know what it going to happen and there is always a twist you did not see coming. This one is no different.
The first question is - will Mei, who has only (re-)known her new friends for a few days before they need to head back north, go with them to Montana and join the rest of the pack? They believe Mei is Chanku but there appears to be something very different about her - does that make her and Oliver compatible so they can mate and become one? Then Eve gets herself into trouble with a bear - can Adam use his skill as a fixer (of anything mechanical - although he did manage to help Oliver shift which Anton has not been able to do in ten years) to save her life?
Kate Douglas always knows how to spin her tale just right to make it feel real and new and the characters alive and not only likeable but loveable. And she gets the reader involved in the storyline, wanting to know what is going to happen next and how these shapeshifters can survive and essentially remain hidden while living in the `real world' ... and it all makes sense, too. Beautiful!

exciting Chanku thriller

In Tampa, Florida Eve Reynolds misses Adam Wolf whom she met in Montana at the werewolf pack led by Anton Cheval (see WOLF TALES V). However she needed to leave him to find herself though she cannot explain to him why. Adam and his friend Oliver leave Montana to bring Eve home. At a convenience store Eve notices Mei Chen who she knew from a foster home when they were children. Eve takes Mei to her motel room. Eve thinks Mei is Chanku like she is; they have sex.
Adam and Oliver arrive in Tampa. Adam and Eve go into the room for sex while Oliver and Mei go out to eat. They are attracted to each other and stop at a motel to make love with each in the other's head. Mei thinks how she had no one for her entire life and now has made love with Eve and Oliver and looks forward to do so with Adam. Oliver telepathically tells Mei he loves her. She feels she has a family for the first time in her life.
Eve knows the only way to tell if Mei is Chanku is an orgasm. Oliver tells Mei they will have four-way sex with each in each other's head if she is okay with that so they can tell for sure if she is one of them. They have the orgy and know she is a Chanku, but something was not quite right so they agree to go to Montana to learn the full truth.
The lead couple is a fine pairing whose strong relationship will have the audience believe in soulmate bonding while the romance between the secondary couple adds additional sexual scenarios including a foursome and incredible angst re Mei. The return of stars from the previous Wolf Tales feels like a homecoming for series fans; however although we learn a lot about the Chanku werewolves, the plot ends abruptly with no closure to the prime tension.

This is another story in Kate Douglas's terrific Wolf Tales series and this one also, like Wolf Tales V, has two intertwining love stories.
Mei and Oliver - Oliver is Antons long-time man servant has a huge and wonderful transformation. Oliver has been in the series since the beginning and there's so much we never knew about him! Another big twist is that the Chanku meet more and some unusual members of their race.
Other family member come in to the story, Adam Wolf and the wonderful Eve. And the pack has to join together to help heal one of their own.
Only one of the two love stories here has it's complete happy ending in this book, the other is 'too be continued' but there was enough that I felt satisfied while waiting for the tale to continue.
Both stories in Wolf Tales VI are wonderful and many of the other members of the Pack are back in this story too. It's always a treat to see people from the earlier stories again.

Eve left Montana. She just was not ready to mate with Adam. Something just really called in her mind to go back to her hometown, Tampa, Florida. She had been there for a while and she just could not figure out what this calling was-until she went to the store and helped another female, Mei, from stealing. Eve then finds out later that she was in a foster home with Mei and remembered her.
Eve takes Mei under her wing. She feeds her, takes her shopping, gives her a place to stay (since Mei is homeless) and eventually makes love to her. More time goes by and Eve begins thinking more of Adam.
Eve then makes a call to Keisha in Montana and gives her a bogus statement that someone needs to come after her. Anton then figures the perfect person to be, guess who, Adam. He takes Oliver along with him.
Adam gets his love back and Oliver and Mei hit it off really well. Both couples make love and Oliver begins to have feelings for Mei-eventually Mei comes around to feel the same. Only there's one problem, there's something special about Mei they can't quite figure out. They all head back to Montana so Anton can help figure this out.
Anton gives Mei the supplement to shapeshift. Several days go by and she has all of the signs of Chanku but cannot shift. Anton calls for everyone to have a meeting for everyone to mind connect. She then shifts but to an utter surprise!!!
What will this surprise be? You have to read...this leads to the problem of Oliver and Mei bonding since they have fallen in love. I cannot wait to read what happens in Sexy Beast V (Aphrodisia) when they have a conscience/body swap to help them bond.
