More Than You Will Ever Need, Jan 11 2007
By William Varner "dribex" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Word Biblical Commentary CD-ROM: 58 Volume Edition (CD-ROM)
From its beginning, the Word Biblical Commentary has been very much a "mixed bag" theologically. While under generally evangelical sponsorship, the WBC has some authors who would stretch the meaning of that well-worn "E word" to its limits and even beyond. From an academic viewpoint, however, the WBC is consistently of the highest caliber. From technical linguistic discussions to sermonic suggestions, each commentary offers something for everybody. The bibliographies before each scripture section alone are often worth the cost of the book, especially for students looking for in depth studies of that passage or some item in the passage. Some volumes, particularly the two by William Lane on Hebrews, have already reached the level of "classic" in my opinion.
I agree with the other reviewer that you can find it cheaper than you see it here. Sorry, seller, but I had to mention that. (Try the Logos version!)

Excellent Commentary Series on CD-ROM!, July 23 2006

I owned about 40 of these 58 volumes in hard back books. I sold them on Ebay for around $500. I bought this CD-ROM of 58 books for LESS than that. Plus, now I have 18 extra commentaries, and I can take them with me on my laptop wherever I go.
Moreover, this commentary series uses the fantastic Libronix Digital Software System.
I must say that these volumes presuppose that the reader is familiar with Greek and Hebrew, so know in advance that this is a pretty scholarly set. The contributions on Matthew, Romans, Ephesians, Revelation, 2 Peter and Jude, Genesis, Ezra-Nehemiah, and Hosea-Jonah will stand the test of time and should be owned by all seasoned and serious Bible teachers.
If it is all right for me to say this, I believe that this set can be found much cheaper at [...]
