As a musician, it's difficult for me to find music that doesn't make me want to analyze and think of chord progressions, or basically turn listening to music into a headache. I like ambient music for that reason, that it is music that is a background to my activities allowing me to use my minimal amount of brain power for other things! Hahaha! Anyhow, I bought this after hearing the clips and I have to say, it is one of the most amazing 'ambient' releases that I've ever heard. I use that term loosely, in that it is a bit more heady than the typical ambient drones or washes that sound like breath with a pitch. Words Touch is more like Brian Eno's 'Music For Airports', or any kind of really intelligent ambient. I get swept away by this, and every song is much different from one another and well produced, and performed. My favorite track is 'Weightless You Are'. It has a great chord progression (very intelligently written), and the song is split into 2 parts, each one just great. This is my favorite ambient release, probably because it was written by an esteemed musician with an ear for capturing perfect melodies and harmonies. All that said, 'Words Touch' is the holy grail for getting my son to take a nap and our family listens to it when we go to sleep at night. I try to fight zonking out to hear as much as possible, but it is just so relaxing........
Thanks, Paul!!!
