Product Description

Product Description

Monsanto, the world's largest producer of genetically engineered products, claims their patented GM seeds and bovine growth hormone (BGH) will increase worldwide production of agricultural, dairy, meat, and Bt cotton and can eradicate world hunger and poverty. However Monsanto (maker of Agent Orange), is frequently described as the "Gestapo" and "Mafia" by farmers who use their products due to their use of pressure tactics, attempts at corruption, misleading reports, and collusion with the American Government.

The World According to Monsanto pieces together the true, unsettling story of how the clean, green image conveyed by the company's advertising serves as a smoke screen for Monsanto's quest for market supremacy - to the detriment of global food security, public health and environmental stability.

Review

"A cogent and horrifying enough picture of the world's leading seed manufacturer to warrant concern and fury." -- Meg Hewings, HOUR.CA

"A devastating exposé ... will freeze the blood in your veins." -- John Griffin, THE GAZETTE

"A film that should be seen as widely as possible ... scrupulous, thorough and damning." -- Malcolm Fraser, MONTREAL MIRROR

4.0 out of 5 stars Everyone should watch this... Dec 10 2008
Format:DVD
You should take the time and watch this video. It maybe to "green" for some people, but there are some interesting facts and information given in this film.

One of the most scariest things to think about is what happens when Monsanto owns our food? What then? You may not be eating genetically modified food, but what about all the livestock that is?

What about the 3rd/2nd/1st world, sending seeds to farmers and then have theses seeds kill or take over traditional crops, or not let farmers grow from the seed they produce, since these seeds are not free, they are owned by Monsanto..

Nature has to many variables to fully understand, no matter how many computer simulations we run, no "scientist", or "company" can fully understand any of the consequences of bring genetically modified plants to the world.

It scares me to think that these companies are out for their bottom line, rather then for the environment...

Have a look see...
