Product Description

Why are there so many religions? Do they basically teach the same thing? Are religious differences really important? Bruce and Stan address these questions and more as they take a close look at some of the worlds major religions and belief systems. From Islam to Jehovahs Witnesses and from New Age Spirituality to Atheism, Darwinism, and Naturalism, this book features: key teachings of each religion; quick-glance belief charts; brief biographies of leaders; study questions for group or individual use; suggested reading for further study. Readers will also discover why spiritual searching is universal, how each religion compares to Christianity, the ten characteristics of cults, and what makes Christianity unique.

5.0 out of 5 stars Biased and proud of it!, Jan 3 2010
By L. Steele - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: World Religions and Cults 101: A Guide to Spiritual Beliefs (Paperback)
I have read various so-called non-biased texts on world religions over the years. It is refreshing to read a book that admits up front that it has a bias. This book is probably best used by practicing Christians who would like to compare and contrast their faith with others, thereby clarifying their own beliefs and giving them a tool for witnessing. I first read this many years ago, but I plan to order more now to lead a Bible Study. The humor makes it more fun to read, but I promise we will discuss whether it is offensive, and how to share our faith without coming across as condescending.

This is a great book! It is very thorough in explaining differences in religions/cults. It has a little humor which balances out the serious subject. I would recommend it to anyone!
