Bacchus himself would be pleased by this informative, artistic endeavor. Camarra touches on every aspect of the world of wine, from its humble religious beginnings to its elevated seat in the culinary world today. She surveys a variety of wine growing regions, including exotic locals such as Israel and Algeria. The text is sprinkled with trivia, but the glorious color photos that dominate makes the book coffee-table worthy. The Mondavi foreward is too brief, and a bit generic, but the shear size of the book practically guarantees something for everyone.
