I have to applaud Simon's humor. Its incredible how he thinks up these fantastic excuses that just get wilder and wilder. Having said that, although you know the stories are so incredibly unbelievable, you just can't help believing them.
It is true though that it is very dispiriting when aplying for a position a lot of the time you know that the prospective employer is so inundated with applicants that you seldom get a reply. At least using Simon's technique you will get yourself remembered.
I like Simon's colleagues too. They gel together, Bert the postman and Nigel the inventor. (Nigel, what a great name that is) In fact with a group like that you could make a TV series. Great little gem of a book.

What a wonderful little book this is. The humor is out of this world and the storylines are pure fantastic magic. My favorite story is about a postman who is taken hostage by terrorists and held prisoner in the post box. The post box is stormed by special forces who rush inside to rescue the hostage. A gun battle takes place inside involving several terrorists, the special forces unit and the postman. All these people in the post box, and you know what, I believe it. What a fantastic imagination Mr. Richmond must have. The situations are like nothing I've come across before. The book description talks about applying for something that's going to be refused, and if I was looking for a candidate and recieved letters like this, I would certainly want to meet him or her. The book is subtitled Vol 1. so I hope Vol 2. isnt far behind. great stuff.
