Cherie K. Miller has done something that is quite inspirational for us "rookie writers" if you will. As a writer who wants to get published, I have found it difficult to find other writers who are willing to give me advice or direction. Writing conversations is a book that has a quote about writing for every day of the year. These quotes are not shallow or something that you hear all the time and roll your eyes about. These quotes are useful! They inspire you as well as gently guiding you to become a better and more professional writer. They do not go by topic, either, which is even more exciting. One day they can be talking about style the next about characterization. Really, it's just like you were sitting down with the author chosen for that day and you ask them: "What can you tell me today that is the single most important thing that I need to know about?" And there you have the quotation. Do not be confused that this is one of those books that are like the quotes of calendars either. You know what I'm talking about, those calendars for your desk that you look at and you keep tearing the sheets off because you don't like the quote? This book is actually a book that you can sit and read quite easily. I read this book in three days and I started writing a story and I had a question. I went back to Miller's book and found a quote that helped answer my question. This book is really a great resource and I really enjoyed it!
