4.0 out of 5 stars Review of Writing for your Readers by Donald Murray, Dec 7 2001
By Joe Student - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Writing for Your Readers: Notes on the Writer's Craft from the Boston Globe (Paperback)
The purpose of Donald Murray's book Writing for your Readers is simply to give any journalist -young or experienced-- the ideas and tools to write effectively. The advice purposed has been developed through years of experience and the help of other professionals. He offers his advice stressing his main points for a strong lead and the use of a conclusion throughout the book as a means of helping journalists write with clarity. When Murray talks of journalistic aspects he is unfamiliar with, he turns to other effective writers that work at the Boston Globe, and provides their advice in a transcribed account of the interview. For those looking to get into the journalism field this book provides hints on anything you would need. From letting you know the facts that seem like common sense to twenty great tips to break writers block organized into quick reference pages through out the book. A fast read, this book will provide information that is useful in most types of writing and is presented in such a manner that you can easily refer to any of the information any time you need.
