days of whinnies and wine...., July 5 2009
By Ouida Stone "paper shrink" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Wrong Turns (Paperback)
I kept waiting for a 38 year old guidance Counselor to figure out her own life. Callie appeared more adolescent than her kids... picking Vicki in the end as a leftover treat. And so cliche! She sleeps with a woman one night and starts wondering where they will set up house.
I hate that everyone over 15 appears to be a drunk.. more beer, vodka and wine mentioned on every page than Callie working through her stuff.
Hoped that the end could at least have Callie cutting down on her drinking after her doctor's visit.
Here's what I got out of it: Lesbians, Liquor, Lust and Losers.
Also, the book was poorly edited which appears to be the norm for Bella Books... only good thing is that the binding held together - actually, bad... I wanted an excuse to toss this book out.
Jackie Calhoun used to write better novels.

To Be Or Not To Be, Jun 29 2009
By Angie - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Wrong Turns (Paperback)
In Jackie Calhoun's Wrong Turns, Callie Callahan had me guessing all the way. At first she doesn't think she's gay. But when Marc, her gay business partner, reminds her that she's been divorced and hasn't dated for eight years, she rethinks her aloneness. Then she's really confused when she meets Vickie and Meg, women who show an interest in her, and women she must choose between or lose both. I recommend Wrong Turns to anyone who has ever looked to the right when she should have been looking to the left.

Wrong Turns, came up wrong for me!, Aug 31 2009

I've read other books by Jackie Calhourn, but Wrong Turns was by far my least favorite. This book just keep coming up short of my epxectations. I found it hard to keep my attention and left me feeling cheated by what I thought would be a good book.
