The item works as advertised. Folds small, easy to haul about, can't complain as it does what they say it will do.

Great tripod, light and adjustable!, Oct 1 2011

This is a great tripod if you need to have your kinect free-standing, and need to be able to control pitch / tilt etc.
I work with Kinects as part of my job, and need to be able to position them at different heights, facing different directions, at different places in the room. I also have to move the kinect and its tripod to different locations to demonstrate the technology I'm working on.
I got this tripod because it was cheap. I bought two more because they were cheap AND did a great job!
The kinect snaps right into a mount on the top of the tripod, and is easy to snap back out again, two small clasps. The tripod is very light weight and collapses down to maybe 2' by 5". The legs let it extend so the kinect is perhaps 4' off the ground at its highest. The tripod has tilt and pan for the top joint, so for example I was able to get the kinect to point almost straight down at the ground.
The legs are like any collapsable tripod. They have flip compression locks that allow you to adjust the legs to whatever length you like, then lock them into place. I was also happy to be able to fold the legs together without shortening them, so I can lean the tripod out of the way when I'm not using the kinect.
Overall, very good value for the money!

This tripod is exactly as shown in the video of the seller. It is lightweight but durable and fits perfectly in KINECT hoc basis. The tripod can be extended further than the specifications say or what is shown in the video. The tripod itself is not very different from those used for cameras or video, so you know it has a neck that may extend even further. I will post the accurate height later in this review. I have my KINECT installed under the screen and the tripod is just there as a simple camera tripod as my screen is suspended from a ceiling mount. But the installed base of the tripos makes it above the screen, too. This product really is just what the seller says and I'm happy with it. I live in Mexico and here the tripods with Xbox's license, are not so easy to get -which I think is silly. I had to buy this tripod first before the Kinect because otherwise I couldn't set it on an optimal position. I think if you're clever you can create your own tripod for Kinect with a regular tripod and building a base or something (just search it in a video engine on the internet), but I think this product has a fair price and can save you many headaches.
