Review

Publishers Weekly (web exclusive), 2/7/11
“Leeds covers it all. Week-by-week tasks provide clear, realistic goals for the determined mother-to-be, and some weeks involve simply thinking about organizing or creating routines. The emphasis here is on the difficult choices that have to be made, and the logistics behind making them. Leeds will likely change the thinking of many a wood-be parent: being organized is actually far easier than the alternative.”

Library Journal, starred review, 2/17/11
“With her advice, future mothers and new moms will walk safely toward the Zen path of type-A personality nesting. A great gift and a great collection addition; enthusiastically recommended.”

BookPage, May 2011
“With impressive thoroughness, the authors pay attention to every possible topic…most of which new parents will not have thought of yet. Luckily, One Year does it for them.”

Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, July 2011
“If you need a serious organizational overhaul (or just some quick tips), this is the book for you.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this book! Mar 21 2011

I admit it-- I'm an organizational nerd. So maybe it's not a surprise that I found this book so helpful as I get ready for the birth of my first baby. On the same hand, I can also see this book being helpful for those who are more of a free spirit. The authors take an almost holistic approach to getting organized, with a focus on nurturing yourself and those around you. I found it very comforting to know that there were things I could do today, while pregnant, to make my life easier when baby finally arrives.

Although I discovered this book when 37 weeks pregnant, I've still found a lot of great ideas and organizing inspiration by paging ahead and reviewing previous sections of the book (it's written with organizational "assignments" for each week of pregnancy). I also love that the first 20 weeks postpartum are also covered with reasonable goals for a mom taking care of a newborn. Highly recommend!

Another brilliant written organized "must have" for friends or family that have a little blessing or two on the way! I just received my copy that I purchased for my best friends that are expecting twins! With so much to do and 101 opinions....this book will help to put much of the planning and preparation in place. Thanks Regina for another great gem.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Baby Steps for Organizing Before Baby Jan 14 2012
By TulipGirl - Published on Amazon.com

I downloaded the free kindle sample and liked it enough to actually spend the money on the book. I find the organizational tools and prompts to be helpful, and not overwhelming to this tired pregnant mother. I like seeing the progress on things that I need to get done anyway, and having the book "coach" me each week. As I received the book at 25 weeks pregnant, a lot that could have been done sooner hasn't been done. I like the author's suggestion to just start where you are, and go back to previous weeks as you have the energy when the topic of organization is important.
