If you've ever lived in rural France, even for a short time, you will find this book brings back fond memories. It is both hilarious and heart warming and rings so true for me. It is well-written and extremely readable. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed the book. Love the dry sense of humor & the vivid descriptions of Provence and its people. However, for someone who does not know French, I wish Mr. Mayle had used less French interspersed where English would have sufficed.
