Yes, anyone can...even guys., Jan 11 2007
By J. S. - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Yes, You Can! (Paperback)
I bought this book at the same time I bought "Chix can Fix" by Norma Vally. Both these books are great for beginners, especially when used in combination. It was really a big help when I moved out of my apartment and then moved into a new one. I often helped my dad with home improvement and repair projects but I didn't learn much from that. This book provides a really solid foundation and good recommendations for starting your tool collection.
You definitely can see Amy Wynn's background as a carpenter since many of her projects are building things with wood. I'd say that some of the projects are intermediate tasks and weekend long projects rather than quick fixes. She also provides a wealth of tips and insights. It's also more formal than Norma's book in its writing style, which would appeal to a broader base of readers.

Yes You Can, Mar 16 2006
By Madeline De Louisa - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Yes, You Can! (Paperback)
I found the book to be very informative. I have seen the author, Amy, on Trading Spaces many times and found her to be a very able and creative carpenter and all around handy person. I grew to respect her ability and it was that fact that made me buy the book when I saw it. I'm very glad that I did.
