Product Description

Beautiful young Andrea travels from Los Angeles to her ancestral home in England to meet her relatives and confront her mysterious heritage. But from the first moment she steps foot in her grandmother's cold Victorian house in Warrington, she senses an awesome, unsettling presence. She knows that a rendezvous awaits her: a terrifying journey into the past, and a shattering encounter that will mark her and change her forever. Andrea soon learns how terribly right her instincts have been. Waiting for her is Victor Townsend, a man who reaches out to embrace her from beyond the grave, a man for whom she hungers - even though she knows of his past evil deeds. But Andrea also discovers the lingering horrors of the old house, its carefully buried secrets, and a timeless, tragic passion still burning within its aging walls. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars A parallel world of today and yesterday under one roof, Oct 18 1999
By Leanne - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Yesterday's Child (Hardcover)
Why is this book out of print? Barbara Wood bring out such an unusual storyline in this haunting tale. A young woman goes back to her grand mothers house in England to what she thinks is to be a boring visit with an old and dying grandfather. The grandfathers' family is taboo and never discussed, it's dark secrets never revealed, until they start playing their life out infront of her eyes. Is she going mad? Eventually she doesn't care, because the lives she sees...... well that would be telling, wouldn't it! I thought it was a good story and a great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Barbara Wood at her very best!, May 16 2011

I have this book in paperback. It is my all time favourite historical romance novel. Have read it several times over the years and will yet again. A quick but entertaining read!

1.0 out of 5 stars awful, July 12 2009
By Jane Wittbrodt - Published on Amazon.com

I'm a huge Barbara Wood fan, but this novel is awful. It's so repetitive! It's a creepy, almost incestuous story. Choose from her MANY other terrific books; skip this one!
