A relaxed pace power yoga,
By P. Smith "P.D.Smith, RN, BSN." (Fort ST. John, BC, Canada) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Yoga Burn - DVD (DVD)
So. If you have ever done one of Rodney's yoga DVD's you know to expect power yoga in some form.I dont do this DVD all the time. However, it is one of the ones I do frequantly. I find this DVD more relaxing. It also has a fair bit of floor poses. By the end of this DVD I find myself relaxed and rejuvinated. Definitally worth checking out. Would work well for a beginner-intermedate yogi.

CHALLENGING SLOW-FLOW YOGA,
By
This review is from: Yoga Burn - DVD (DVD)
This 60 minute routine is a powerful and mindful yoga practice. The poses are all done slowly and with continuous movement then repeated several times. The sheer slowness trains the mind to be `present' so you will definitely feel the burn.YOGA BURN is different then Rodney Yee's other practices and I really enjoyed this workout as I found myself getting into the zone because of its slow, meditative and almost hypnotic quality (the great ambient music helped too) Some of the poses are quite advanced but I think the really challenging part is the length of time the poses are held and the repetition (most sequences are done 2 to 3 times each.) For a change this has been filmed indoors and Rodney looks better than ever as he gives us flawless voice instruction from a raised wooden platform. The audio is available with 2 different options; Full or minimal instruction (which is a great feature) I think complete beginners will need more instruction and modifications than are available here and I did find some of the moves quite advanced. Rodney also claims that this sort of practice will boost your metabolism and I can vouch for that as I was starving halfway through. No props are needed except your yoga mat and I can highly recommend this workout. Some of the poses used include; Staff, Flying cross legged pose, Cobbler,, Half boat, Boat, Cross legged twist, Cat, Down dog, Plank, Cobra, Single legged down dog, Triangle, Warrior 2, Standing forward bend, Chair, Standing side stretch, Warrior 1, Low lunge with backbend, In reverse prayer, Bow, Cobbler with forward bend, Head to knee forward bend, Wide angle forward bend series, Seated forward bend, Back stretch, Reclined bent knee twist, Bridge, Reclined leg stretch, reclined crossed leg to chest and finally Corpse pose.

I love this DVD...,
By Reneli "Reneli" (Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Yoga Burn - DVD (DVD)
I wanted to get back into Yoga after a 4 year hiatus. I'd never done any exercise DVD ever and I must say I love this workout. The first couple of workouts I was very stiff but after a few times I got used to the instructions and got my flexibility back. It is quite advanced but Yee's instructions are very precise and I enjoy it too because it is a VERY slow Yoga session and you hold the poses for a few seconds, I hate to rush through Yoga.My only complaint would be that the relaxation sessions at the end is not long enough.
