I found this DVD phenomenal. My first with Shiva Rea and for sure not the last one. The way the DVD is done is a visual bliss. Nothing like the DVDs out there. It has a lot of stuff on it like over 2hrs and there is plenty to choose from. Don't expect structured choregraphy. it's all about letting go and finding your own movement and experiencing with it. DVD has a lot of challenging sections physically and ones that are less of a workout and more of a movement meditation. Definetely for those who are adventourous and those who love free form dance movement. Definetely not your regular dance fitness dvd. Because you move freely you are able to connect mind and body and doing a 7min. trance dance can take your heart beat to the sky!! You just need to be open minded and willing to try letting go if you want to rip the benefits of this kind of movement otherwise you will feel just simply awkward watching and trying to copy the dancers. So go for it if you like the concept of dancing as if noone is watching you.

I loved this workout. I have never seen or experienced anything like it before. I love the interchangable menu to create your own workouts, some more challenging and some more relaxing. This was my first Shiva Rea and won't be my last. It's exciting and encourages you to trust your own body and work at your own pace. I always leave this workout feeling positive, totally invigorated and empowered. Let your inner Goddess loose and go for it!

UGH! I HATE this "workout". I'm so bummed that I do, too. I sent my hubby to my amazon wishlist last Christmas (I had heard good reviews about this DVD from somewhere- amazon us maybe?), and loved everything he got me from it, except this DVD. Now, I'm an open minded person. I have lots of workout DVDs in lots of different styles- tae-bo, hip-hop, yoga, pilates, bellydancing, bhangra, turbo jam... the list goes on and on. And I have never found a workout video so bizarre. I felt like I was auditioning for a role in a movie about some weird hippie cult. I just did NOT get how this is a workout. A lot of the time you're meant to sort of "do your own thing", while the instructor and the other participants in the video are doing really hippie-type dance movements.

BLAH. Do not get this DVD unless you're the kind of person who secretly longs to spend your days on nude beaches doing tantric breathing and earth dances with people you don't know. If that's you; knock yourself out. You will love Yoga Trance Dance.
