This review is obviously going against the general consensus here, but I'd like to put in my own 2 cents.

The two authors of this book, neither of which are Medical Doctors, attempt to explain what Adult ADD is and what you can do about it. Unfortunately, they seem to have failed miserably to accomplish that goal. The book if full of fluff and irrelevant ramblings. It goes off in different directions (well, it was written by two ADDer's after all), contradicts itself repeatedly and blames virtually everything on "your disorder". The book smacked of the support group mentality where people come up with all sorts of theories in an attempt to rationalize why something happens.

I'm surprised the book got published at all considering the writing ability of the authors. The book lacks flow, is monotonous to read and the frequent use of exclamations becomes annoying after the first few chapters. I found myself flipping through the pages trying to get to the good stuff; unfortunately, I never found it.

I am not a doctor or a writer. I am a person with adult ADD, however, and did not find this book very helpful. I suggest you try to borrow a copy from your public library before spending your hard-earned money. Otherwise, there are a few other books on Adult ADD written by people far more qualified in this field.

This book was very helpful in that it was the first book that I read on the subject of Attention Deficit Disorder.
I would recommend it for anyone who has a new diagnosis of ADD/HD or for family and friends who want to support the person diagnosed. The chapter on medication was a bit over my head but it might not be so for everyone. This is a very good first book on the subject.

Before I bought this book I heard great reviews on it and I just knew I had to buy this book. So I ordered it and here I am on Chapter 6. All throught the reading I had to highlight points that sounded like me. I am taking my time in reading this book and who knows I might even read it again and use the points I highlighted in my life. It is a book I would highly recommend to anyone who want to know more about ADD and ADHD. I refuse to end this book to anyone cause I probably wont get it back.
