Product Description

Review

"The brilliant de Adder nails us again… He understands our quirks, our boasts, our foibles, our hopes, our insecurities. He employs his always pointed pen to make us laugh at ourselves. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the boy is some good!"  —Stephen Kimber, Professor of Journalism, University of King's College

"Michael de Adder is a very funny guy — and a very astute one. Not only are his cartoons hilarious; each of the ones in this book picks out a foible that every Nova Scotian will recognize and enjoy."  —Silver Donald Cameron, Host and Executive Producer, TheGreenInterview.com

DeAdder's cartoons are incisive and brilliantly drawn; he's one of the funniest and best in the world, in my humble opinion. (Certainly tops in Canada.) Keep up the great work, Michael.

This is the cutest book of one-liners and pics that will bring back memories of the 50's and 60's....and you needn't have been raised in Nova Scotia either, though my friend from there had to explain what a few things were. He got such a kick out of it, that he sends the one liners to his friends still living in Nova Scotia and they all have a great laugh! I found the book on my brothers coffee-table and his daughter was given one as a gift from her Mom-in-law. It makes a really cute gift and you will see people smiling right away. You only have to read one page, to want to read another! This book is meant to be shared !

I heard about this book on CBC radio, so I bought it immediately from Amazon, for a friend of mine that's from NS. I had a slight fear that he might find it insulting and full of stereotypes, but he reports that he actually loves it. He says it's very real, and he has been in such situations, or places before. So, if someone is able to laugh a bit at themselves and say "Oh, SO true...", then this is great for any Nova Scotian, especially for the ones away from home.

Definitely a successful gift. :-)

This is So-True of Nova Scotians !! I live in Nova Scotia and I can definitely relate to all of the cartoons !!
It is True that everyone always wants to gather in the kitchen when you have a party. It doesn't matter how many years have passed since the second Halifax-Dartmouth bridge was built.....the second one is Still called, " The New Bridge " !! I've said it myself. Talk about Newfies !! Nova Scotians can't talk !! God help us All :-)
