It is Pastor Norm Grant's strong belief that God calls Christians to come and follow him in closer fellowship that often goes far outside the four walls of a church and the daily routines of life. Grant's personal memoir, recounting his own spiritual walk over the last number of years, is a poignant reminder that the summons to a deeper relationship with our maker is not an easy one. It will tax our resources, test our sense of security and above all else challenge our sense of lifelong purpose. Expect the unexpected is the adage that best sums up this undertaking. Grant's argument is not only based on the touchstones of his own life but effectively draws from a wealth of biblical evidence describing the likes of Abraham and St.Paul as they responded to a higher calling. It is only as we allow God to take over in our lives and strengthen our faith that we begin to enjoy His miraculous power in light of eternity. Anyone who enjoys the writings of Francis Chan, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, or Thomas Kempis should feel inspired by Grant's journey. His is a mission to tap into that heavenly power that transforms rather than just reforms his and other's lives. Dangerous stuff but well worth the risk if it allows one to enjoy one's faith on the higher spiritual plane.

Norm Grant relates his own magnificent transformation as well as the stories of present day and historical figures, including Bible references, to provide examples of how to take advantage of the "right here....right now moment" and achieve awe-inspiring results. Grant inspires us to move from our passive existence of "stuckness", and allow God to take our pen and write us into a life that is liberating and fulfilling. Highly recommend this for all!

An action-inspiring read, written by a successful, self-made man. Norm Grant was Vice President of a Real Estate company who accomplished his dreams of power, money and leisure, yet remained unfulfilled. Norm builds bridges of understanding, using everyday events to illustrate principles and ideas in a down to earth, easy-to-relate-to manner. Simple, yet exemplary advice makes sense of the sometimes disconcerting question of how to recognize divine guidance in daily life. The author moves and energizes us to discern these pivotal moments and take responsibility for action. Be aware, smash routine, take risks. Do something that matters.

I found this book inspirational and entertaining. Grant discusses the importance of listing for and obeying God's call with anecdotes, Bible passages and personal experience in a friendly, relaxed tone. I highly recommend this book, especially if you're at a crossroads in life.
