I had been doing Paleo style eating for several months before reading this book. I had lost weight and was feeling more energy and overall satisfied with the diet, but it wasn't optimal. I was having troubles with digestion, sleep and further fat loss.
Kresser's book does such a great job of personalizing the Paleo Diet. I am not a dogmatic person and I don't like the idea of following a rule that doesn't apply to my situation.
Kresser lays out a great approach to eating that initially eliminates a lot of troublesome food, but then allows you to reintroduce what you want/ can handle in a systematic approach. The bonus chapters you can get free online addressed so many of my personal body issues that I started to think the man was psychic.
I have read through a half dozen books on Paleo-style eating and this is easily my favorite.

This book is definitely amongst the best "health books" ever written. I really don't know how Chris could've done much better.

recent information, well written, cited, perfectly detailed.... this is a horrible review but this book is right up there with paul jaminet's perfect health diet. if only I had this information 10 years ago.

This is an excellent book! although I can't explain all the scientific information word for word, I understood it all. I am trying to heal my guts through nutrition, and in this book the author explains HOW foods are broken down by the body, and WHAT foods are beneficial for nutrition, WHY we need to avoid eating certain foods.

This is an easy read -- a lot of the stuff I had already read in other books but I like Kresser's approach to eating and suggestions for 30 day diet is good. I am glad that there is more information on eating protein and veggies and watching intake of sugars (even in some fruits). I am also happy to hear that some fats are actually good for you and help with digestion -- so many people say that "fat is bad" and I have always felt that it is necessary for a healthy body. It is a good reference book for my library.

I wouldn't consider it a diet book but a great eye operner to what you are eating.

Chris takes almost every type of food and breaks it down to tell you what it does to your body.

He debunks a lot of myths and breaks down a lot of studies to help you understand what they really mean.

Everyone should read this book even if you aren't sure about the paleo way of life.

I bought this book on a recommendation and have been reading it intently. I do find that some of the products mentioned are only available in the US. This book is much easier to understand that the previous one I read "the Perfect Diet". I would and have been recommending it to family members and friends. My husband and I have been following the Paleo Diet since January.
