Ten years later, my old rice cooker was on its last legs. Thought I'd buy a new one only to discover today's rice cookers are far more sophisticated. And boy do they cook fantastic rice. Just amazing clean light firm no-stick rice. But the real catch is the different things you can make in a rice cooker. Like Risotto. Risotto can be a pain to make, stirring for an hour or more. Not with this machine. You cook everything in the bowl, add ingredients, close the lid, wait an hour and bingo, the best Risotto ever. I'm thrilled. The machine seems very well made. Solid, not flimsy in any way. This three-cup model makes enough rice for four people at a go. Highly recommended. In fact, it's a revelation.

Have tried numerous less expensive rice cookers previously (all of which failed within a relatively short period of time), decided to invest in the Zojirushi based on other reviews. This thing is awesome. Takes a bit longer to cook, but the results are fantastic. Rice has never tasted so good...texture of the rice is perfect - light and fluffy. Worth the money and would recommend it to anyone.

Being from Japan, I'm quite picky about how rice is done, but this little zojirushi is the best rice cooker I've ever owned. Especially with Californian rice (I recommend 'Milky Queen' or 'Koshihikari' variety), it makes delicious rice with great texture on the palate that's neither mushy nor dry and chewy. The warmer function keeps the cooked rice reasonably good-tasting for a few hours as well, so it's convenient for parties, Bento-making etc. The only reservation I have about this model is that the rice tastes so good we end up eating all the rice we cook at one go, making me regret that I didn't get a larger model.

LOVE this machine!
