Although the one I received was quite a bit lighter color than the picture, this is a great dish. I use mine as a land hermit crab food dish and I've found it easy to clean. If I can get yesterday's banana and grapes off of this bowl the reptile owner will have no problem. Unlike a ceramic or glass bowl, you and your animals can be as rough with this as you want. It would take a serious effort to break this.

Looks nice, quality seems good but my fish refuse to ... Dec 1 2014
By Josh - Published on
Looks nice, quality seems good but my fish refuse to use it, instead they just lay around it flopping until they apparently die of dehydration which surprisingly does not take long.

Stupid Fish or bad Water Dish? Who knows, I am off to the pet store to buy more expensive smarter fish. Will post back my results.

How do I keep the bottled water I put in the fish water dish from mixing with the nasty aquarium water? Dec 2 2014
By Hey Jude - Published on
This seemed like such a good idea, because I do worry about my fish getting the recommended daily intake of water for fish. Too bad I couldn't figure out how to keep the water in the dish once I placed the water filled dish on the bottom of the water filled tank. Imagine my surprise when the water in the dish kept disappearing into the water in the tank before my fish even had a chance to check out the Zoo Med Repti Rock Water Dish for Fish, X-Small.
I gave it 3 stars because it is probably my fault I can't figure out how to keep the water in the dish, once it is placed in the filled aquarium with the fish.

OK, but not the color of the picture Sept. 18 2012

I received this x-small Repti rock water dish and hope it was the same color as the picture (slate), but the color was red instead of slate color or desert khaki. The red doesn't go with my desert theme, it just sticks out like a sore thumb. My daughter is using it for her Emperor Scorpion's water dish (the one she had was too big). I went to the pet shop and bought one that is the muted desert khaki, it blends well with the desert theme of ledges and hides. I guess they send whatever color they have.
Natural, but Shallow Dec 27 2014

Very natural looking, and it looks cool in a naturalistic vivarium if you can't afford a waterfall/pump. The downside, is that it is very shallow and doesn't hold too much water. But nonetheless, I would recommend this product.
Doesn't sink! Nov. 10 2015

Bought this as a feeding dish for my aquatic frogs. It doesn't sink. If it actually sunk I could use it for bowl feeding fish and aquatic frogs, but maybe it shouldnt be advertised for fish if all it does is float.
