Our little boy had been asking for a Zoomer for months, and Santa finally brought him one. We pulled the Zoomer out of the box and went to plug it in, the internal, female end of the charging system pushed inside the Zoomer when we pushed the cord in, and now it is unable to charge. Our poor little boy is left with a brand new Zoomer that he will never be able to play with. We are very disappointed in the quality of this product.

Son really wanted this toy. I read reviews, heard about lousy battery time, but figured as much as it does, what do you expect. However, upon getting it, I'm not sure 'why' they wouldn't put in a larger battery.. a half hour is ok, but kids get so frustrated with it, and then it dies.. that they get to feel only frustration.
the manual states that the zoomer, like a real dog, only learns when happy or when he wants to basically.. that you have to 'train' him. What this is though, if you think about it, is just an excuse by the company for how badly this works. Are we to believe this was actually programmed to disobey and be more frustrating than it needs to be? How exactly can it be trained? If it does 5 different things for every command you try, and there is no way to tell it it did it correctly, how can it learn? What if it 'learned' something incorrect for a command? How would you correct it? Obviously it's not true.
I can't say enough how frustrated kids got trying to tell it to do something. The manual says to say the vommand, the website says to say 'zoomer' before every command... which is it? Even simple phrases it should be able to get right via syllables, it fails on. One command the kids wanted it to do the most, to follow them, never ever seemed to work. The command works in tandem with motion towards it (again a pretty simple one for it yo get right a majority of the time you would think).. but it would never do it.. and if it seemed to, would quickly crash into a wall. I tried the vommand for zoomer to look at me, and moved my hand side to side to which his pupils should follow. It worked to one side, but when moving left, it would start to follow then track right on its own.
