Came on time. It works pretty good. Haven't had any problems with it. You have to use small potatoes...big ones won't fit. All in all, a good gadget.

HASH(0xa6fa584c) out of 5 stars used for 15 found one for daughter! April 29 2012

Best use for potatoes, carrots, cucumbers, zucchini...etc.
Comes in 2 sizes.
Rarely used the bigger one - ideal for dicing.
The smaller one is perfect for french fries. I also use it to make strips of carrots n potatoes n then cut them to abt 1 or 3/4 inch pieces (along with the same length french beans, dishes look lovely). I use this size veggies for pulao, kurmas, veggie stir-fry n so on. Even cucumbers cut this way look grt in salads (with diced red tomatoes or r.peppers)....u could cut partially cooked or partially steamed beetroots for salads, or curries this way too. I luv the uniformness n symmetry in my food :-)

U can make french fries / veggie strips only to abt 2 1/2 inches long. So cut carrots n other veggies to that size before feeding in. You could feed in 2 such pieces in one go if the carrots aren't too hard. Don't use too much force.
Place the cutter on a cutting board, hold the cut veggies as they come out, with your other hand, as you press, it would then b easier to cut them further if desired.

I've been using this for more than 15 yrs n was looking out to get more for a backup...i kept searching, thankfully it's still holding on well. So happy i found the exact one here at amazon!!! Got one for my daughter in Sep 2011

23 Nov 2014 Update:
The blades began dulling gradually and the cutter ultimately broke while using on a carrot. Would have lasted longer if I had stuck to doing only potatoes.

HASH(0xa6fa5a74) out of 5 stars Great for the price Nov. 29 2011

I was looking for a cheap potato cutter that would not be a complete waste of money. It is sturdy enough to use with small potatoes but still requires some effort (I didn't try medium or large potatoes because I'm convinced that it would either break or get stuck). I have, however, come to use it often for cutting other veggies like zucchini, carrots, etc. (mostly for stir fry) and for these this cutter delivers cute-looking cuts in a breeze. It is easy to use and cleaning is simple enough and the cutters come in two sizes, the small one being perfect for my veggies. While it will disappoint someone looking for a large potato cutter, I awarded 5 stars based on what it delivers for the price.

HASH(0xa6fa5cd8) out of 5 stars Easy Homemade Fries March 17 2014
By Aub Rey - Published on
I have been looking for one of these to make homemade sweet potato fries. I was at the store the other day looking at the vegetables thinking of different items I could “cut” and fry/bake. I got zucchini, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, and carrots. It was really easy to insert vegetables and push down on the lever. It came with different attachments to create large “fries” and “shoe string fries”. Pinterest has a lot of recipes that involve this kitchen gadget. It is very handy and easy to use. I can’t wait to explore more vegetable options.

it's plastic, so you can't put a whole potato in it, but for the price it does a great job, and I've really forced a few through and had no issues. it's easy to clean and use, no complaints. I would buy it again

HASH(0xa702e264) out of 5 stars Easy to use and sturdy. April 23 2014

I like this potato chipper because it works well. Primarily I have used it for potatoes and carrots. For larger items like bigger potatoes I just quarter those first because the chamber is not large enough for anything bigger than a medium to small potato. Comes with two blades for making large and small chips.

I also like that the handle is sturdy. When you use it it does not flex and feels substantial for a product made of plastic. Another plus is that it's easy to disassemble and clean.
