4.0 out of 5 stars 2 good romances for the price of 1, Sep 9 2000

This review is from: The deputy's bride (Paperback)
The Deputy's Bride" by Liz Ireland. In Heartbreak Ridge, everyone knows that Ruby Treadwell is the town hellion. That is quite a surprise because her four older brothers are model citizens who raised Ruby when their father died form cancer. However, Ruby is sick of their moral restrictions and wants freedom. She has chosen Deputy Sheriff Cody Tucker as her ticket out of town. As she drives the reticent law enforcement official crazy with her lunatic behavior, they fall in love. The second novel in Ms. Ireland's "Lone Star Lawman" series is a humorous romantic romp.

"Sitting Pretty" by Cheryl Anne Porter. In Kansas City, after being fired once again, desperate Jayde Green temporarily lands on her feet by obtaining a job house sitting the home of wealthy businessman Bradford Hale. However, to keep her Kentucky family away from her new employer, she informs them that Bradford is her beloved. That ploy seems to work until the family decides to meet her future husband, who Jayde simply loves. Known for her historical romances, Ms. Porter provides her audience with a jocular contemporary romance that will leave readers laughing until tears run down their faces.

As expected by romance fans, DUETS 35 retains the high level of quality for romantic romps that is the norm for this strong series.
